A 'round the clock' coach service for travellers and commuters.

Mary Hanafin T.D., Minister for Social and Family Affairs today welcomed the news of a new 24hour coach service for passengers travelling on the Dalkey-Dublin Airport route. "The Department of Transport has granted a licence to Aircoach to provide the new service on this route. With stops at Dalkey, Glasthule, Dun Laoghaire, Monkstown, Blackrock and Booterstown passengers can avail of a coach service which will use the Port Tunnel for faster access to and from the airport."

Minister Hanafin went on to say "I was disappointed that the licence offered to the operators of the Patton Flyer did not meet their needs and that they were unable to take up the licence offered to them by the Department of Transport earlier this year. However, I welcome the enhanced 24 hour Aircoach service which will operate under licence from next month.

Dun Laoghaire and the surrounding areas can benefit enormously from tourism and conference business and ease of access to the airport encourages people to visit and stay in the locality. Local hotels will also welcome the development now that the future of the service has been assured."

The service will depart every 30 minutes from Dalkey and from Dublin Airport.
